A view over the rooftops of York was the starting point for this project to create a home study for a university academic. Two distinct working areas are defined within the attic of a nineteenth century terraced house. The first, a simple built-in table providing layout space for documents. The second, a semi-enclosed window seat and desk, raised above the existing floor level to provide views across the city. This space is accessed via a series of steps, separating it from the rest of the room.
